05/01/2023 Daimonji Collectibles (CC) 3-0
Third armoury in a row, this time round i checked out a new store, which is actually a shop very close to where i stay, shout out to @Daimonji Collectibles! Folks there are friendly and there were a couple of new players too which is always nice to see. In the afternoon before the armoury, a new player asked in the chat group whether someone could lend him a deck to try out, i said i could bring my <Ser Boltyn, Breaker of Dawn> and he said thank you and he played the armoury using it. What's funny is my round 3 opponent was this dude, so i played against my own deck, lol~
Decklist remained the same as the last one, still feels good about it so no changes were made.

Round 1 Fai, Rising Rebllion
Equipment used: <Crown of Providence>, <Courage of Bladehold>, <Braveforge Bracers> and <Refraction Bolters>
Opponent was on the <Harmonized Kodachi> and <Mask of Momentum> plan and i breathed a sigh of relief when i saw his equipment.
I won't be running through teh entire game but just a couple of key turns. In the early game, i was blocking his third hit consistently to deny <mask of Momentum> trigger and presenting <Dawnblade> swings with go again. My opponent's deck was built in a way where he's not so willing to block so we were trading damage rather fast.
First big turn for my opponent came before mine, where he played <Ancestral Empowerment> on the third hit on the combat chain to which i blocked exact, drawing 2 cards and then further presented 8 damage with his <Salt the Wound>, getting a rather big life lead on me. But my turn was more sickening i think, i had a counter on my <Dawnblade> while in my hand was <Ironsong Determination>, <Glistening Steelblade> and a blue, also i had <Ironsong Response> in arsenal. So on my turn, i played them out getting 3 more counters on my <Dawnblae>, making it a 7 power for 1 resource!
Next turn, my opponent had to play double <Art of War> defensively and allowing him to block frm arsenal, but i went over it anyway so the game just ended there.
Something worth mentioning though is my opponent's build of <Fai, Rising Rebllion> was rather interesting, he played <Scar for a Scar> and <Mindstate of the Tiger>. Hearing him talking it out, <Scar for a Scar> is to get an edge in aggressive match-ups and <Mindstate of the Tiger> is a very good utility in that it blocks for 3, gets an additional card into your hand to enable <Enlightened Strike> or <Art of War>. Also, the reason he was not blocking that much was he played only 11 blues in his deck so a much more aggresive <Fai, Rising Rebllion> build afterall.

Round 2 Viserai, Runeblood
Equipment used: <Crown of Providence>, <Courage of Bladehold>, <Braveforge Bracers> and <Refraction Bolters>
Opponent's version and playstyle of <Viserai, Runeblood> was super aggressive in that he rarely blocked, allowing me to get to 2 counters on <Dawnblade> twice in the game. He was able to reset my <Dawnblade the first time round when it was on 2 counters with a 2 card block plus <Sink Below>, by the way he saw all three of his <Sink Below> :(
The game was basically just us racing to the finish line. not much details were useful in this kind of situation though.
However, there are 2 key decision points in the end game phase.
1) I swung <Dawnblade>, drawing 2 cards from opponent but managed to attack react to maintain the counter, but since i had no "Go Again", i couldn't swing a second time. My re-draw was a quad red of <Command and Conquer>, <Ironsong Response>, <Rout> and <Warrior's Valor>. Opponent returned with a <Command and Conquer>, i though long and hard and decided to block with only my <Courage of Bladehold>, going down to 2. On the return, i was able to chip in another 3 damage, maintaining my counter and leaving my opponent on 1 card, so i didn't die to a <Rosetta Thorn> swing. On hindsight, i should've block with 2 cards and just present naked <Dawnblade> holding <Ironsong Response> in hand which would not have made the game as clutch as it was.
2) Final turn of the game, I played <Steelblade Supremacy> and swung my 3 counter <Dawnblade> for 8, what i had in hand was a <Glint the Quicksilver>. Opponent bocked exact, i played my <Glint the Quicksilver> drawing into <Twinning Blade> and the game ended there. What looks like a lucksack was actually a calculated decision, I had about 30 cards in my deck and i had no more <Steelblade Supremacy>, <Glistening Steelblade> or <Warrior's Valor> and only 1 <Spoils of War> in the deck, so the chance of drawing in an "Attack Reaction: was rather high. At that moment, drawing either an "attack reaction" or a <Twinning Blade> like what i drew was going to finish the game, which is why i took the chance.
Take away from this game, get a feel on how opponent is playing early in teh game and plan the end game according.

Having a record of 2-0, i'm once again in the running for a CF Arakni, but there were 12 players in the armoury, so we had 3 2-0 players by the end of round 2 and i was paired down which means my chance of getting the top seat was slimmer due to tie-breaker. Kind of sad, but luck is luck, oh well...

Round 3 Ser Boltyn, Breaker of Dawn
Equipment used: <Crown of Providence>, <Courage of Bladehold>, <Braveforge Bracers> and <Refraction Bolters>
This opponent is the fella i lend my deck to and is new to the game, but his game understanding and how fast he picks up a deck is very impressive. He was piloting the <Ser Boltyn, Breaker of Dawn> deck very proficiently! The thing is <Dorinthea, Ironsong> is such a newbie punisher in that you can't really win against <Dorinthea, Ironsong> when you only know how to play your own deck, you need to know how to play against <Dorinthea, Ironsong> in decisions as to when to block and how much to block.
The game ended with me having 6 counters on my <Dawnblade>.
What i did in last round sure can be called "Seal-clubbing", but i believe it was a good learning opportunity for my opponent. We had a talk about roughly what are the cards to watch out for when playing against <Dorinthea, Ironsong>, what are the usual breakpoints and how much i can pump the <Dawnbalde> swing by. Always feel good to meet new players of the game!

Getting 3-0 and not winning the CF does sting but i was not too upset by it, in fact I was the first to clap when the TO announced the eventual winner.
